Thanks for a great three weekend run in Viroqua... I am impressed by your summaries of Sefl-Directed Learners... hope you take them seriously and polish them, share them and work at making it happen in your classrooms.

This web site will stay up until January 1, 2007....Please feel free to copy or bookmark any of the live links for your future use.  I am looking forward to hearing from Kathy about if our syllabus gets approved, but I am most excited about hearing about how your impact projects turn out!  Send them via email (nlockett@aea267.k12.ia.us) or mail them to Nancy Lockett at 9313 Leversee Road, Cedar Falls, Iowa   50613.

Don't forget to take a minute and celebrate what you are doing and the lives that you are touching!

Until our paths cross again, take care of yourself, take care of each other and take care of the kids!

Essential Questions:
  • What is a self-directed learner?
  • How important is it to us, to our students, to their parents, to the community?
  • What work would you design for students that would support, nuture, develop self-reliance?
  • What climate/environment would be necessary for students to become self-reliant?
  • Does how we teach make the difference?
  • Does what we teach make the difference?
